Being a voice for the animals in need involves sharing your own personal story. Even children can create meaningful content for social media using Digital Storytelling.
Digital storytelling is basically the use of computer-based tools or technology to tell your story. Multi-media elements such as text, images, audio, video, and other digital tools can all be used in order to express one’s ideas. Like traditional storytelling, an effective digital story must have a focus, an intended purpose, an appeal to the emotions that allows it to connect to the audience, and it should follow a clear outline or timeline to be well understood.
The Adoption Story of our Rescue Dogs
This video is the story of how our lives were enriched when our rescue dogs Louie and Toby became part of our family through a group of amazing volunteers called Open Paws Jeddah. It is a one-minute story in order to conform to Instagram’s video length requirement for IG Stories.
The kids ages 4, 6, 9 and 13 recorded the narration for this video. Open Paws Jeddah is a group of passionate dog-loving individuals who have dedicated their time and effort to help rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome the abandoned dogs in Jeddah. They are volunteers who work hard to give rescue dogs a new chance at a good life.
We hope that through this video, we can be a voice for the rescue dogs in Jeddah looking for their forever homes and we also hope to help promote the mission of Open Paws Jeddah. As the popular animal rescuer quote goes, “Saving one dog won’t change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.”
