These are just a few of the reasons why initiatives such as coastal clean ups do matter. True, we can all help in conservation efforts by using less plastics, but we cannot afford to not take action and find ways to also clean up the trash that already is in the beaches and in the water itself. Plastic can take anywhere from 20-500 years to decompose, and many just break down into microplastics that still contaminate our environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
