One of the best things we love about homeschooling is how we are able to make learning more meaningful and purposeful by doing projects that integrate knowledge and skills in different areas while also being involved in a cause that is close to our hearts.
And so we are very grateful to have been invited to this fundraising event where we spent March 3 or National Homeschool Day. We get to have fun, bond as a family, meet new people, play with rescue dogs, use our creativity to support Open Paws Jeddah, and promote homeschooling as an added bonus.
We had a wonderful time at the Paws at the Park event for Open Paws Jeddah. Selling our #handmadewithlove stuff was a meaningful experience for our homeschoolers who love our own OPJ rescue dogs. It was a wonderful way to also celebrate National Homeschool Day with the whole Homeschool Association of the Philippine Islands community and all the Filipino homeschoolers around the world.
Thank you to all who supported our booth where we sold bead bracelets, paintings, handmade doggy totes, & homebaked muffins (from Homeschooling by Grace), especially those who “adopted” our crocheted stuffed pets made by our #teenhomeschooler Allyra as a symbolic adoption for OPJ dogs as well.
In our own small way, we hope to continue to raise awareness and encourage others to support OPJ’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs in need.
