A world animal day Poster-Making Campaign

WonderfullyMadeKids Homeschool invites you to celebrate World Animal Day by joining us in making pet adoption posters for rescue animals to help them find their forever homes.

what is World Animal Day

World Animal Day is a global movement or campaign with a mission to raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe.

As explained in their website, “Government departments, city authorities, animal welfare organisations, celebrities, community groups, youth and children’s clubs, businesses and individuals organise a huge variety of inspiring events that embrace all animals and the unique concerns of each, in every country.

Events draw attention to animal issues and makes them front page news around the globe – a vital catalyst for change. Through increased awareness and education, the World will become a fairer place for animals.”

About Our Event

We invite you to join us in making pet-adoption posters for adoptable rescued animals from shelters and rescue groups and share this on social media. This event is posted on the World Animal Day website. Our event goals are as follows:

  • To empower students to use Canva as a tool to express themselves and be heard.
  • To inspire children to be a voice for the animals.
  • To raise awareness about animal welfare
  • To find good homes for the adoptable animals through increased attention.

Local shelters and rescue groups

If you can, please contact an animal shelter or rescue group in your area regarding their adoptable pets especially those who are long-stay residents that have been overlooked. Then, make posters using the animal’s photo and details and share it on social media. Our hope is that with this increased attention, the chances of them finding a family would be greater.

Canva Poster-Making Tutorial

While you can use any medium to make your posters, for kids who are in Canva for Kids Learning Group or for anybody using Canva, we have made a couple of simple tutorials that beginners can follow. They were made by our 13-year old and our almost 7-year old kids.

Canva Pet Adoption Poster Templates

While you can make your own poster from scratch, you can also use ready-made templates and modify it as you see fit. Just type “pet adoption” in the Canva search bar and you would see their many templates that are ready to use. Below are samples and you can click on the corresponding buttons for the template link in Canva.

Thank You!

If you’ve read this far, then we want to thank you for your taking interest in our campaign! We are currently waiting on the feedback from the rescue groups and shelters we have contacted, so we can invite kids to make posters for them. We will keep you posted on any updates.

As Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” Let’s do our part in helping needy animals. No effort is too small if it is done by a good heart. Happy World Animal Day, on October 4 and everyday!
